A collaborative approach to improving patient outcomes
The Critical Care Research Group (CCRG) is a world leader in critical care research and biomedical engineering, developing technologies that improve outcomes for critically ill patients.
With a highly-skilled team of international researchers and a collaborative approach to medical advancements, our aim is to increase understanding of the many issues that face critically ill patients and find new or improved treatment methods for hard-to-treat diseases. This research aims to increase survival rates and improve the quality of life for patients with life-threatening conditions.
Based at Australia's largest cardiac hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital, CCRG investigates better ways to support patients with heart and/or lung failure. We are internationally-renowned for our clinically relevant large animal models, including heart and respiratory failure, including Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, heart transplantation, sepsis and cardiogenic shock.
CCRG supports Honours, MPhil and PhD students from multi-disciplinary backgrounds including science, engineering, medicine, and allied health.
