IMB researchers have made a big leap forward in their quest to eradicate billions of cane toads wreaking havoc on our native wildlife and habitats.
But we need you to jump on board our Cane Toad Challenge to rid your local area of cane toads and help us with our research.
Our researchers and their colleagues at The University of Sydney have developed an environmentally-friendly cane toad bait that removes cane toads while they are still tadpoles.
The bait uses a chemical from adult cane toads’ own toxin to attract and trap cane toad tadpoles, before they have the opportunity to reproduce.
We need more funding for this project to support research into the baits to ensure they are suitable for use in the community, and produce them on a large scale.
