IMB Junior Scientist Hub at World Science Festival
About
The Institute for Molecular Bioscience returns to World Science Festival Brisbane's City of Science with our Junior Scientist Hub. Enjoy a weekend packed with engaging, hands-on science activities suitable for the whole family.
Discover how IMB researchers are harnessing nature to find new medicines and investigate the intersection of art and science.
Activities
- Build your own peptide out of pipe cleaners with scientists from The ARC Centre of Excellence for Innovations in Peptide and Protein Science (CIPPS), hosted at IMB.
- Spot the science elements in the large-scale installation, 'Nature Étude' (2023), by internationally renowned contemporary artist, Hiromi Tango.
- Look at petunia seeds under the microcscope.
- Mindfully colour in a print by artist Hiromi Tango to unlock the power of peptides and proteins
After completing the activities, your little one can graduate from our Junior Science Hub. Snap a photo of them in a lab coat and take home a graduation certificate signed by our Executive Director, Ian Henderson.
Don't miss this special opportunity to spark a passion for science in the hearts of the next generation of innovators!
