Join us for an exclusive Discovery Presentation in London. Professor Glenn King will detail how, by harnessing the chemistry of venoms from arthropod predators, such as spiders, scorpions and centipedes, he has discovered a drug candidate that could improve the outcomes for stroke globally. Professor Michael O’Sullivan, a neurologist and researcher, will share details about his work treating patients and his work to restore brain function, memory and cognition following stroke.

You will also hear about the Not if, when campaign, which aims to create change throughout society, with transformative student scholarships, life-changing research and pioneering teaching initiatives. It will be a truly inspiring evening to highlight the incredible stroke discoveries being pursued across UQ to create change by treating this devastating disease and improving lives.

About Discovery Presentation

The University of Queensland invites you to hear from our world-leading researchers about their efforts to minimize the brain damage caused by stroke.

According to the Stroke Association, more than 38,000 people died in the UK last year as a result of stroke. It is the third biggest killer in the Western world with many survivors left disabled and needing rehabilitation. UQ’s researchers are committed to driving discovery to solve the impact of this disease, globally.
