As a student selected for entry into the IMB, you are given the chance to conduct research and hone your skills in a stimulating, international academic environment with access to world-class facilities and technology.

We have opportunities for undergraduate, honours and postgraduate students. These include:
  • Undergraduate Research Scholarship Scheme – This scheme is designed to provide highly motivated third-year students with the opportunity to gain valuable research experience in our bioscience laboratories. It provides an excellent chance to try your hand at research before committing to further study. It is undertaken during semester and can be credited towards your degree.

  • Summer Internships - This program allows interested students to gain exposure to research and additional laboratory skills during the summer holidays, and receive some financial compensation for their work.

  • Honours Program - The Institute offers internal and external students opportunities to undertake a wide range of honours projects at the IMB via enrolment through the relevant Faculties. Participation allows students to engage with and experience the rich intellectual resources and facilities of the IMB. Employers regard an honours degree as a significant indicator of achievement and potential and it is also the most effective way of qualifying for higher degree admission at MPhil and PhD level.

  • The Research Higher Degree Graduate Program has been designed to provide students with the highest quality training in research and to ensure that students graduate with the broad-based knowledge and the career skills necessary to tackle the scientific challenges of the 21st century. IMB PhD alumni have gone on to a variety of roles around the globe.

We hope that all of our students, no matter at which level they are studying, will embrace the experiences, challenges and opportunities the IMB has to offer.
